In this blog post I will talk about which stations you should use to get to the various tourist attractions in Singapore. I have grouped the stations in terms of geographical locations. For each station name, I will use the colour codes according to the train lines the MRT station is on.

Red - North/South

Green - East/West

Brown - Thomson East Coast

Blue - Downtown

Purple - Northeast

Orange - Circle

CENTRAL

Bayfront (Blue/Orange) - Gardens by the Bay/Marina Bay Sands 

Gardens by the Bay (Brown)- Satay By the Bay/Marina Barrage (great for sunrise)

Marina South Pier (Red) - Singapore Cruise Center / South Island Cruise Center (for Lazarus Island)

Promenade (Blue/Orange) - Singapore Flyer / Marina Square / Suntec City

Esplanade (Orange) - Esplanade / Marina Square / Suntec City

Raffles Place (Red /Green) - CapitaSpring Observation Deck / Market Street Hawker Center / Lau Pa Sat / Merlion / Empress Place / Asian Civilisation Museum / The Arcade (Currency Exchange)

Telok Ayer (Blue) - Amoy Street Hawker Center (most Michelin Bib Gourmand) / Thian Hock Keng Temple (oldest) / Yakun Kaya Toast @ China Square 

Maxwell (Brown) - Buddha Tooth Relic Temple / Maxwell Market for Chicken Rice / Club Street (Nightlife)

Tanjong Pagar (Green) - Conservation Area with Boutique Hotels / Korean & Japanese Grill / Hawker Center

City Hall (Red/Green) - National Art Gallery / St Andrew’s Cathedral / CHIJMES (Nightlife) / Raffles Hotel

Clarke Quay (Purple) - Clarke Quay (Nightlife) / Singapore river cruise (around the bay)

Harbourfront (Purple/Orange) - Sentosa / Ferry to Batam Indonesia / Vivocity Mall / Mount Faber / Southern Ridge Trail / Henderson Wave 

Chinatown (Purple) - Chinatown

Bugis (Green/Blue) - Kampong Gelam / Andaz (Mr Stork rooftop bar) / The Atlas Gothic Bar / Haji Lane (Nightlife) / Goddes of Mercy Temple

Aljunied (Green) - Geylang (red light district / Supper central) 

Paya Lebar (Green) - Malay Enclave (visit during Ramadan/Hari Raya)

Tanah Merah (Green) - Change to East-West Line from Airport 

Expo (Green/Blue) - Changi City Point Factory Outlets / Change to Downtown Line from Airport

Dakota (Orange) - Old Airport Road Hawker Center (one of the best)

Little India (Purple) - Little India / Tekka Market (Indian Food Galore)

Farrer Park (Purple) - Mustafa (unique shopping experience)

Punggol (Purple) - Singapore largest man-made river / Model Housing Estate / Coney Island trail

WEST

Tiong Bahru (Green) - Tiong Bahru Conservation Area / Hipster Cafe / Hawker Center (best for breakfast)

Havelock (Brown) - Alternative access point to Tiong Bahru / Robertson Quay

Bukit Gombak (Red) - Little Guilin Park

Jurong East (Red/Green) - IMM Factory Outlet

Chinese Garden (Green) - Chinese Garden / Japanese Garden (both under renovation)

Lakeside (Green) - Jurong Lakeside Park

Tuas Link (Green) - Raffles Marina Lighthouse (best spot for Sunset)

Beauty World (Blue) - Bukit Timah Hill / Bukit Timah Hawker Center

Hillview (Blue) - Dairy Farm Nature Park with Singapore Quarry

Haw Par Villa (Orange) - Haw Par Villa Park

Holland Village (Orange) - Holland Village (Nightlife)

Botanic Gardens (Blue) - Access to the new part of the Singapore Botanical Gardens (use Napier Station for faster access to the Heritage part) / Adam Road Hawker center (Nasi Lemak)
